AI tools cannot be authors. Human authors remain accountable for submitted text, analysis, citations, images and claims.
Disclosure
Material generative-AI use should be transparently disclosed where relevant. Editors and reviewers must not expose confidential manuscript material through external AI tools.
Permitted assistance and disclosure
Language, coding or analytical assistance involving AI does not transfer responsibility from the authors. Material use that affects manuscript content, analysis, images or interpretation should be described transparently in a suitable section when relevant. Fabricated citations, undisclosed synthetic evidence and confidential-data exposure are not acceptable.
